Jimmy’s Scottish heritage determined the wardrobe. Cara in Kipling’s library. Cara’s lace dress was perfect for a Vermont summer day. The gardens at Naulakha provided the backdrop for Cara and Jimmy’s formals. Cara’s bouquet and floral wreath were crazy beautiful. The bridal party at one of Scott Farm’s outbuildings. Jimmy’s dad and brother are the groomsmen. Each of the groomsmen had a Scottish dagger handy to slice apples as needed. Guests arriving at the secluded ceremony site on Dusty Ridge Road in Putney. Jimmy’s brother Rod, and the eager ring bearers escorted by their dad. Cara is walked down the aisle by her brothers. The perfect cathedral for this celebration. The bag piper plays Amazing Grace into the June air after Cara and Jimmy’s vows. I do. We did! Back at Scott Farm for the intimate reception. Jimmy with his longtime friend Johnny, both vintage car enthusiasts and solid citizens. Cara and her mom, who have a special bond that was evident the first moment I met them. Cara steadys her mom, who started tearing up as she welcomed their close families and friends to the celebration. The reception was filled with laughter and good food. Jimmy’s dad cracks up his mom fairly regularly. The cake cutting. So far so good. Face frosting.
