Melissa + Matt

It was a picture-perfect Vermont fall day for Melissa and Matt’s intimate wedding at the wonderful Treehouse Village Inn in South Newfane.
Melissa’s beautiful styling was by Heather Wrona.
Melissa’s mom and sister completed the essential prep team.
The first look in the treehouse.
Melissa’s dad escorts her down the sun-lit aisle.
And the first kiss as husband and wife!
Checking out Matt’s ring.
Later in the afternoon we made some portraits in the soft light.
I love the backlighting on Melissa’s hair.
On the boardwalk.

Congratulations Melissa and Matt! It was such a delight to be with you and your families on your special day. Cheers to many years and cold beers together!

Sara + Bart

It was a perfect late-summer Vermont day for Sara and Bart’s joy-filled wedding at The Old Lantern Inn in Charlotte.
One of the great things about the inn is that it’s just a few miles from Lake Champlain,
a perfect backdrop for the first look and wedding party formals.
Bart and Pete all ready to see Sara in her dress for the first time.
Pete didn’t really tie his own bow tie. It’s a clip on.

Bart’s mom and dad, and Sara’s mom.
Such a vision of peaceful joy.
Bart’s uncle (and John’s dad, whose wedding to Jenny I did last summer), shares wisdom with a healthy dose of humor.
Husband and wife.
The traditional cousin portrait.
“P” stands for Pete, the dog Sara rescued, and who has since returned the favor many times over.
Cousins.
The introduction.
Sara’s dad gives the first toast.
That mixture of surprise and horror when dad says what dads say.
Spencer promises not to roast the groom, a promise he managed to keep.
Robyn, on the other hand, made no promises.
The father-daughter dance.
Bart dances with his mom.
Then the serious dancing begins!
Not the father-daughter dance.
Some sunset portraits and a few quiet moments together.
Congratulations Sara and Bart! It was a gift to be with you both on your wonderful wedding day—
the first of many joyful days together as husband and wife!

Jess + Kyle

Jess and Kyle had a perfect June day for their wedding at the Echo Lake Inn on Saturday.
Jess and her maid of honor and bridesmaids in their robes.
A champagne toast before changing into their dresses.
Assistant photographer Justin Altman was with the groomsmen,
and caught this wonderful portrait of Kyle.
One of the groomsmen steams his shirt.
The rings of pink gold.
Kyle prepares to see Jess in her wedding dress for the first time.
The first, but not last, tears of the day.
Jess’s team was all fun, all day.

Justin got this great flower toast image.
The boys.
The wedding party on the Tyson Library porch.
The wedding site is tucked in the woods right behind the Inn,
perfectly shaded and cool on a sunny summer day.
Jess escorted down the aisle by her brother.
Everyone expresses their joy at Jess’s arrival.
The exchange of rings.
Husband and wife.
A whole group photo on the porch.
Mojitos.
Jess’s beautiful bouquet.
The first dance, beautifully choreographed.
We coordinated before the dance so I’d be in the right position to catch this perfect dip.
Matt, the evening’s DJ, was flawless, and the playlist kept nearly
everyone on the dance floor all evening!
Kyle’s Nana leads a line dance.
Kyle’s sister, like her brother, loves to dance.
Mom and daughter.
Even the tango made an appearance.
A quiet moment together on the porch.
Congratulations Jess and Kyle! It was a special day for a very special couple.
